Update:
This is not needed for Leopard!! The W300i will work natively out of the box with 10.5
So the latest version of iSync changed the way that plugins worked which meant that Miche was without the ability to sync her phone with her mac… this will be easy to fix says I…
After playing around for an hour trying to re-write the plugin myself and getting no-where fast I found this page which had a tutorial on creating iSync 2.3 plugins:
The site was incredibly helpful and with a bit of messing about I was able to get the correct settings for her phone and it all works again. Here is the fruits of my labours incase anyone else has a W300i that they would like to sync with their mac.
You need to extract this to:
/Library/PhonePlugins (then restart iSync)
The image is incorrect for the phone but is the nearest image I could find for the particular model (which turned out to be a SE Z520).
I had found websites selling their premade plugins but Im loathed to pay for something I think should be free, which is why Im sharing the above to hopefully save others the hassle!
Mike, I’m glad you found it useful. I don’t have a S500i so I’m not sure I’d be able to get anything working as it really was a case of trial and error.

I just installed OS 10.5 and found out my iSync will not work with the previous w300i plugin. Any ideas?
duh? sorry about that. the SEW300i is on the support list according to Apple’s site for the new OS.
I had the same problem as Winterkid, I removed the plugin and it worked without the need for a plugin!
I just discovered this problem with Leopard:
I ran iSync. I got this message:
iSync can’t open because of a problem with a plug-in.
The following plug-in does not work with this version of iSync:
SEW300i.phoneplugin
This is the plugin that I got from you (thanks !) that I have been using to sync my Sony-Ericsson W300i with my G4 Powerbook.
It worked perfectly under Tiger.
Do you have any suggestion for Leopard compatibility ?

Sorry. I got it! For those of you upgrading to Leopard: Just delete the plugin and open iSynch. iSync in Leopard recognizes w300i without any external help. Thanks for your help while in Tiger!

I had brought this phone flown to Nicaragua, where they require you to get a license to bring it in, and make you waste a day doing so! I was all but about to sell it, did one last websearch, and there’s the answer! THANKS A LOT, DUDE!
NOTES: 1) Yes, I did have to create a “PhonePlugins” Folder in my Library.
2) I’m a novice, and made this mistake: be sure to just put the WHOLE icon/image in there that’s downloaded!! Don’t pull out folders or separate it in any way. I know, I know- seems obvious, but live and learn!

This won’t work for me.
I have Mac OSX 10.4.11 and iSync 2.4 and I get an error about the plugin not being compatible with this version of iSync. I’ve tried the link to the French website but that file is no longer there.
Anyone know of the fix or know where it’s hosted? Much thanks!
