The weekend

Tuesday, May 23rd, 2006

Had a great weekend away from work and Southampton. Miche’s dad’s birthday bash went well and was suitable folled the next day by a good BBQ! Weather not quite ideal but still awesome food and great company.

Heard a sermon on the DaVinche Code on the Sunday evening which was really engaging and inspired us to see the film. I haven’t read the book but the film was excellent! The story is very clever and even tho Mr Brown has got alot of his facts wrong he has been incredibly clever in the way he has merged fiction with fact. Might post up some of what was said in the sermon later if I get chance as its really interesting stuff.

Saw Matisyahu in concert last night (monday) with Barney, Mo and a few others…. awesome, will explain more in the next exciting installment once I get my hands on some photos.

So now back in Southampton working (or trying to). Should have a basic Karting game available for download in the next week or so, would be great if people could test it out to try break it for us! Also revision has started and I had forgotten just how dull it is! Not long to go now tho… 5th June last handin, 13th June last thing ever woohoo!

‘Creationism is not the alternative to Evolution – ignorance is.’ No Answers In Genesis

Found this site while trying to find the address of the ‘Answers In Genesis’ site for a friend. Whether you believe in creation or not this website is pretty amusing… this guy is so staunch against creationism that its like he is trying to convince himself ha ha

So I looked up the definition of ignorance….

“Ignorance is the state of not knowing. Ignorance occurs when those who can benefit from knowledge are unwilling or unable to find or assimilate the knowledge”

I also read a few of the emails he had recieved and one of the points raised was very interesting…

Why are there two sexes? Why are there sexes at all?

Never really thought of this before… so if any non-ignorantists (creationists) would like to give me an answer that would be great! And I wont accept the obvious “so we can reproduce blah blah blah”, I mean as chaos tended to order in the unravelling of evolution why did it occur that two sexes would be created for the act of reproduction? Why not a reproductive system based on more than two?

To me this just backs up the idea that we were created by a loving God for a one to one relationship with him, and earthy relationships were given as a blueprint for that… there is also the different characters of God, the gift of sex etc etc, but I know what I believe I wanna know the official scientific stand point of the world… just cos it interests me :D
